In the Budget speech today the Chancellor announced that the Inheritance Tax limit will rise to £350,000, but only by 2010. This continues his previous announcements of raising the limit only very slowly - by around 4% - 5% per year.

With house prices continuing to grow in the long term there are very many families who might be caught by this tax in the future. The tax remains set at 40%.
